Frágil Fortuna is an architecture collective founded in 2024 by Guillermo Sánchez Cárdenas, Kevin Santus and Arianna Scaioli, based between Milan and Lausanne. Combining curatorship, artistic practice and academic research, the collective explores the poetic and political potential of architecture in responding to climate crises and inequalities, rethinking ways of living and coexisting in the present.
Frágil Fortuna’s works have been exhibited at the Klima Biennale Wien, among the finalists for Europan 18 and the Felix Candela Prize, and selected at the Tallinn Architecture Biennale, LIGA Mexico City.

Guillermo Sánchez Cárdenas,

Guillermo Sánchez Cárdenas, Architect and painter, born in 1999 in Toluca, Mexico, currently based in Milan and Lausanne. His work has been exhibited at venues such as Art Basel Miami 2018, Milan Design Week 2024 and in group exhibitions in Zurich, Lausanne, Milan, and Mexico City. He has worked for architecture studios in Milan and Lausanne and has also collaborated as a teaching assistant at IUAV and Politecnico di Milano, where he is currently pursuing his master’s degree, including a year-long exchange at EPFL. In 2024, he co-founded the architectural collective Frágil Fortuna, operating between Milan, Lausanne and Mexico City.

Kevin Santus,

Kevin Santus, Ph.D. Architect, currently a Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Architectural Design at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Politecnico di Milano. He was a research consultant at the Brookfield Sustainability Institute in Toronto (2022-2023) and a contributor to co-design and interdisciplinary research projects at the MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan. He has been a contributor to DOMUSweb since 2022 and an organizer of national and international talk series and conferences. He collaborated with the architectural firm FranzosoMarinelli (2021) and with Rossiprodi Associati (2024-2025) and co-founded the architectural collective Fragil Fortuna (2024).

Arianna Scaioli,

Arianna Scaioli, Architect, PhD candidate (ongoing) and Research Fellow (2024-2025) at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Politecnico di Milano. She collaborates with Sumita Singha (Ecologic Architects) on the international research project Feminist by Design, with whom she is co-authoring a book to be published by Routledge in 2027. Over the years, Arianna has worked as a research consultant for the Brookfield Sustainability Institute in Toronto (2022–2023), Politecnico di Milano, and MEET Digital Culture Center, contributing to co-design and interdisciplinary research initiatives. She also curates seminars and publications on gender, care, and architecture. In 2024, she co-founded the architectural collective Fragil Fortuna.
